Sasha K.A


Sasha has been writing and performing songs for the last two decades. Sasha hails from Western, MA, but has settled in Austin after completing his MM at UT. Sasha writes honest, relatable songs about love, loss, friendship, sorrow, joy, and the environment. His music comes out of the folk tradition with influences including Wilco, Iron & Wine, Punch Brothers, and Tom Petty, and will most often be found accompanied by a variety of string instruments.

We are a group of Chenda (South Indian percussion drum) enthusiasts from Austin. We have been learning and performing Chenda melam in Central Texas for more than 3 years. Chenda Melam is performed by a group during major festivals in Kerala, India and the art form is more than 300 years old.
