Balance your energy throughout the run.

“Carbs and fats aren’t evil but can, of course, be detrimental in excess. So, it’s all about balance,” says Baylor, Scott & White Health Physical Therapist Cameron Cope.

“Before a run try whole grain toast with peanut butter and a banana. It has a nice balance of simple carbohydrates for quick energy (banana), complex carbohydrates for lasting energy (whole grain bread), protein, and fats (try natural peanut or almond butter).”
